Quick, dirty sketches. The Demon Prince and the Simple Farmer. Stylistic practice and a little idea rolling around in my head.
A little more work before bed. I like the style I’m developing here. I just need to work on letting my paint roam and work bigger so I can get more detail in where it needs to be.
It’s a bit weird, though. I used to be really obsessed with trying to make things perfect, but since picking up My Paint, I feel less worried about getting it “right” and more interested in making it expressive and energetic. So far I am liking the results.

A rough and very dirty sketch of Eccles from The Goon Show as I see him in my head.
I’ve completely rearranged my desk around drawing more than gaming and media stuff, so hopefully you’ll be seeing more of my art than before. It was previously very tricky to manage my tablet with the keyboard in the way all the time XD
Alone on a hill with a hundred thoughts in my head.
I wanted to be fancy, but that’s not really my style. I could get all gushy but that’s not really my style.
So how about this - some thoughts about where I’m going with this blog:
I have focused a lot on written things. Thoughts and insight. But I want to expand my venue. I want to make this blog about all my artistic energies and creativity. Especially I want to focus on experimentation, letting my creativity and inspiration guide my art with as little restraint as possible. I have some new software which gives me some interesting options and I am expecting to get a new computer come tax time, so hopefully I can indulge in my life long ambition of animation.
Basically, from here on out, I want to focus more on original, creative content and I hope you will all come with my on this PoeT’s journey.
Thank you all for coming this far :)
Experimental art… Need to get better at this.
He stands alone in gray-fold veil,
With eyes of light, cold and pale.
Under cloak, there shadow lies,
Save for the shining pale-lit eyes.
He sees the world, bright and green.
The sun in sky and star-lit sheen.
‘cross the grass, and o’er hill.
He wanders freely as he will.
The Tree

A loose and dirty sketch of everyone’s favorite hedgehog Sonic. But what makes this so special is that I did it with my Wacom tablet and MyPaint. This is the first time I’ve managed to get something at least recognizable out of it.
