If you can correctly pronounce every word in this poem, you will be speaking English better than 90% of the native English speakers in the world. After trying the verses, a Frenchman said he’d prefer six months of hard labour to reading six lines aloud. Try them yourself.

English is my second language, so some of the older English words I’ve never heard before so I don’t know how to pronounce some of ‘em… but in general, this is fun to read out loud. :D

The ones I can’t pronounce are mostly one’s I’ve never seen before.  But, really it’s not fair to judge on pronunciation.  English is such a complicated language, with so much borrowed from other languages that even someone who is native and skilled with words will find themselves mispronouncing things just because it is legitimately spelled oddly.

Still this is a fun poem, and when I get my full speech facility back, I’ll probably try a few lines of it for fun.
